CHAN 2021: DR Congo Coach Tests Positive For Coronavirus

    The head coach of DR Congo, Florent Ibenge has tested positive for the global viral pandemic, Covid-19.

    Ibenge was absent for the Leopards second group match against Libya in the evening.

    According to reports the Leopards trainer tested positive for the virus after going through a PCR test in the early hours of Monday morning and has subsequently been isolated from the entire team in order to prevent further spread.

    DR Congo prior to their group opener against Congo had reported five players in their team had contracted the virus, including experienced goalkeeper, Let Matampi.

    Meanwhile, Ibenge is believed to be asymptomatic of the virus.

    DR Congo managed a 1-1 draw with Libya.
