CHAN 2021: Mali Beats Burkina Faso In A Fiesty Encounter

Mali recorded their first win over Burkina Faso in the sixth edition of the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Saturday evening via a 70th minute header from left back Siaka Bagayoko.

Bagayoko guided home a cross from the right hand of Burkina Faso’s half from I.Sameke after the Burkinabe’s goalie Sawadogo misjudged the flight of the ball which ended at the back of his net.

Meanwhile it wasn’t an easy outing for the Malians as Burkina Faso had a few good chances of their own only for them to miss out on goal.

Mali recorded four shots on target out of ten total shots with Burkina Faso recording only one shot on target out of four shots.

Mali will now join host, Cameroon as joint leaders in Group A with Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe lagging behind.
