    Hon. Egyapa Mercer Endorses Sekondi-Takoradi Marathon

    Mr. Andrews Egyapa Mercer Member of Parliament for Sekondi has pledged his commitment to the first-ever Sekondi-Takoradi Marathon.

    The event fixed for Saturday, December 26, 2020, from the Sekondi Stadium to Amanful covering a distance of 21 kilometers is expected to attract at least 1,000 athletes across the country including foreign athletes, is part of activities marking the annual Ankos Festival in the region.

    Mr. Mercer, endorsed and announced his commitment to the event when members of the Planning Committee presented a running vest to him at the chamber of parliament on Wednesday, December 16, as a symbolic invitation to the event.

    He commended the organizers for the initiative and added that he would adjust his timetable to be part of the event.

    The Member of Parliament is one of the top personalities that would grace the occasion and also participate in the 2-Kilometer Prestige Run, which would precede the main event.

    Mr. Fred Mac-Bruce a member of the Planning Committee expressed appreciation to the MP for his commitment and urged him to give the event the needed support to succeed.

    He called on corporate bodies to support the organization of the event to ensure its success.

    The first-ever Sekondi-Takoradi Marathon is a 21-Kilometer event initiated by Medivents Consult and Total Marketing and Tours Limited under the auspices of the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC).

    The event would be sponsored by Ghana Gas Company, Africa World Airlines, mybet.Africa, Cowbell, Aqua Blue Mineral Water, Lakeside Estate, GOIL, STMA,  Halfan Ghana Limited, Escort Security Services, The Inquisitor Newspaper, and Sportenetgh.com.
