Ghana’s Flyweight boxer Sulemanu Tetteh has advanced to the round of 16 in boxing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Ganes in Japan.
He will fight Veitia Yosbany of Cuba in the 16th stage on Saturday 31st of July.
Tetteh defatted his Dominican Republic opponent Rogrido Marte in the round of 32 to advance to the next stage of the competition.
He won two of the three fights to record a split decision of 3-2 on the score cards of the five judges.
Three of the judges recorded in favour of Tetteh whilst two recorded for Marte.
The Black Bombers captain started slowly but gradually warmed himself into the fight, winning the last two rounds after falling behind in three of the five judges’ scorecards in the first round.
